Miss Ayumi and Creamy Mami
Miss Ayumi is modelled after the character Creamy Mami, from the series of the same name. This was a popular series in the mid-80's, around the time that Project A-ko was released. C-ko comments in the original Japanese version that Miss Ayumi reminds her of somebody famous, Creamy Mami was probably the person she was referring to.
When Project A-ko was released, there were some complaints that Ayumi's design was too close to Creamy Mami. The reason for this, however, was less to do with the intensity of the parody involved, and more to do with the fact that the two characters were both designed by the same character designer. I guess the industry could hardly be mad at a guy for stealing his own work.
